get to the start line strong.
then go and race it.

one to one running and triathlon coaching. 5k to ultra, sprint to ironman. based in bern, coaching anywhere.

every distance, coached the same way: patiently and with data

a fast 5k and a finished ironman ask very different things of your body. what stays the same is how i coach: build durability first, add load carefully, and know exactly why each session is there.

road, 5k to marathon

threshold work that actually holds at race pace, with load managed carefully enough to run on your own. every session earns its place, so no day goes to waste.

trail and ultra

this is where i've spent most of my own time. intensity and duration can both increase, but slowly and under control, so your legs are ready for the race you entered, not just the miles on the plan.

triathlon, sprint to ironman

three sports and a job is a scheduling problem before it's a fitness one. we set priorities so the sessions that matter get done, and the ones that don't get cut without guilt.

how it works

a plan you can always see ahead of time, a check in every week, and changes when your life or your legs need them.

  1. intro call

thirty minutes. where you are, where you want to get to, what has got in the way before.

  2. a baseline first

before the structured work starts, we find out where your fitness actually is and how your body handles load. no zones copied off the internet.

  3. your plan, ahead of time

sessions go in ahead of time so you always have visibility of what's coming, and you know which ones matter most when a week goes sideways.

  4. weekly check points

a short catch up every week. how it went, how you feel, what we change. i read your data, but i trust what you tell me more.

how i coach

durability first, then fitness

fitness is easy to build and easy to lose to six weeks off with an injury. we make you robust first, then we make you fast. it's slower for a month and quicker for the year.

controlled progression

intensity and duration might both increase, but slowly, one small step at a time. it's the simplest rule in training and the one most people break.

fuelling is part of the plan

fuelling is trained through the block, not discovered on race morning. we practise your race day approach in training, so it's familiar rather than a gamble.

flexible, not vague

structure that moves week by week beats a sixteen week pdf you abandon in week four. the plan bends around you, not the other way round.

from athletes

i play rugby, so triathlon was a bit of a leap. callum built things up gradually, kept me in one piece and got me round my first ironman. a good experience start to finish.

george, ironman thun 2026

i wanted a faster marathon. callum sorted my easy days and my fuelling, and the plan fitted in around work without much fuss. pb in the half on the way through, then pb in the marathon.

about me

i'm callum. based in bern, switzerland, coaching people all over.

i've always been drawn to the long stuff. i've raced the ironman world championships in kona, ridden the tour du mont blanc, and spent 122km on my feet at the helvetia backyard blitz before it beat me. running and cycling aren't just what i coach, they're part of how i live day to day, and i'm still out there training and racing myself.

along the way i've made most of the mistakes i now stop my athletes from making: too much too soon, riding through knee pain, fuelling on vibes. i read the research so you don't have to, and i'll tell you plainly when something's marketing rather than science.

things people ask

i don't have a race booked yet

that's fine. plenty of people start with "i want to run without breaking" or "i want to get fit enough to pick a race". we'll build the base, and the race will suggest itself.

i'm injured or coming back from time off

this is a lot of my coaching. we start with what you can do today, not what you could do last year, and build back up under control.

how much does it cost?

monthly, cancel any time. ask on the intro call and i'll give you a straight number.

start with a thirty minute call

no pitch, no pressure. tell me where you are and where you want to get to, and i'll tell you honestly whether i can help.
